Mason Biohub

About the Initiative

Co:Lab is a Mason Economic Development Initiative co-hosted by Myriad Neuroscience, focused on growing a Mason biohub. The objective is convening and leading a future-forward dialogue to bring science and innovation to the schools and broader community featuring Mason science collaborators in a CO:Lab environment.

Now in its fourth year, the initiative grew out of a vision to further ignite the City’s rising biohealth hub through a distinct life science industry partnership between the City and Myriad (then Assurex Health). Mason’s Co:Lab is a unique economic development collaboration that feeds connectivity among our corporate innovators and engages scientific talent in Mason to accelerate trailblazing life science conversations in our schools, community and companies. These uniquely positioned relationships fuel scientific discovery and talent development that has generated millions of dollars in capital investment and thousands of new jobs in Mason.

We are honored to host returning luminary Neil Lamb, Ph.D., of HudsonAlpha, a global leader in biotechnology and genomic research since 2008 and partner to Mason and Myriad.

This year’s events include a keynote delivered by Dr. Lamb and three dynamic discussions:

  • Genomics – New Findings In the Field by Dr. Neil Lamb
  • Merging Life Science & Data in and out of the Lab
  • Genomic Pathways – A Conversation About How We Got Here and Where Are We Going
  • Innovation and the City of Mason’s Entrepreneurship Ecosystem

Taking Public-Private Partnerships in Mason to the Next Level

In Mason, public and private entities working as one is what turns a strong business environment into an advanced ecosystem. From developing our Mason Tech Elevator through a unique partnership with an expanding company to co-locating a rapidly growing bioscience company on our municipal campus, we consistently look for ways to support innovation while growing our tax base. Operating outside the bounds of conventionality, our partnerships with several companies within our rapidly growing biohealth ecosystem leverage the synergy of an expanding pool of investigators, inventors and allies. Through a combination of committed partners, cutting-edge technology and top-ranked educational resources, we’re disrupting the status quo to position Mason as a catalyst in the creation of a Bio Center of Excellence. Partners like Myriad Neuroscience make this possible.

Thank you Myriad Neuroscience.
