Mason Tech Center
The City of Mason created a unique alternative to traditional business accelerators. With 30K square feet of state-of-the-art space targeted to strategically grow BioHealth/IT and Digital IT technology clusters along the I-71 tech corridor, it is currently home to seven growth companies. Within the past 12 months, these entrepreneurial business have created 72 jobs.
Genomics Lab on Municipal Campus
Assurex Health, a personalized medicine and informatics company with a global corporate headquarters on Mason’s campus, worked with the city to expand and relocate their CAP accredited, CLIA lab to the Muncipal Center. Located on the lower level, the genomic lab is presumed to be the first of its kind through this innovative partnership. This demonstration of P3 mindset gives Assurex a presence of nearly 30K square feet.
Mason, an early mover and risk taker in the CincyTech model of driving capital into scalable innovative bio and technology companies, is now home to five of the CincyTech portfolio. Since 2010, CincyTech has driven seed-stage investment into ideas resulting in 43 new companies and over 417 jobs regionally. More than 34 percent of those jobs are in Mason as a result of leadership’s collaborative business mindset.
International trade commissioners and dignitaries came to the City of Mason in 2013 to tour a model of wellness integration at Assurex Health. German-based FESTO chose Mason for its North American distribution facility in 2013 largely due to this innovative model.
The City of Mason leads an innovative partnership with BioOhio and Assurex Health to host its annual career fair. The last two years, this event attracted more than 500 bio job-seekers to Assurex Health’s headquarters at the Mason Municipal campus.
